Phoenix Fired Art owner Heather Grills throws a bowl during the Empty Bowl-A-Thon on Thursday at Phoenix. Grills said they hope to top last year's mark of 1,000 bowls sold. In November, local restaurants will fill purchased bowls with food and proceeds will go to benefit local hunger agencies such as the Salvation Army, Watered Gardens and Crosslines. Grills said the benefit raised almost $19,500 last year for hunger relief.
