Carl Junction art teacher Nellie Mitchell stands near mock ups for Vans shoes created by freshman Rachel Jones and senior Theresa Rodriguez on Wednesday at CJHS. Jones and Rodriguez designed shoes for a contest sponsored by the popular shoe company. At stake is a grand prize of $75,000 to the school's art department. Second place will be awarded $10,000.
