Scheldon Ward performs his rendition of "Can I Lay By Your Side" on Thursday night at the Blasters auditions. Ward, a car salesman, stopped to audition during a test drive and brought his customers along for the performance. About 45 people from throughout the Four States performed for the chance to sing the national anthem at the Joplin Blasters home games.
